Virginia M. (Harmon) Blank, 88 of Lake City, died Friday August 25, 2017 at Fairview Manor, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Girard Twp. May 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Struchen) Harmon.
Virginia graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1947. Following high school she worked at Marx Toys in the Assembly Department and DNR Foods, in the Bakery Department. She also worked at Metro Health Center as a Nurse's Aide and most recently at Presque Isle Rehabilitation as a Nurse's Aid, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Federated Church of East Springfield and the Springfield Seniors Organization. She enjoyed camping, going to and watching Hockey games, and traveling throughout the United States with Walter and her mother Dorothy. Virginia loved her family and her dog, Hershey and her cat, "Fedsie"
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Husband, Walter R. Blank, whom she married on February 14, 1953, and Sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Weismen.
Virginia will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her Daughter, Linda J. Blank of Erie, PA; her Son, Terry R. Blank of Woodbridge, VA; Deborah Servey, of Erie, whom she loved like a daughter; Sister, Helen (Richard) Robison of East Springfield, PA; dear friends, Carl Servey and Betty Pelletier, Cindy Paleczw and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main Street East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ed Huntley officiating.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NW PA Humane Society or Orphan Angels.
