Judith "Judie" (Lucas) Grimshaw Skowronski, 70 of Girard, passed away suddenly on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.
She was born May 4, 1946 in Erie, a daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Menosky) Lucas.
Judie graduated from Girard’s Rice Avenue Union High School in 1964. Following high school she began raising her family and worked in various places to assist her family. She worked for many years at Waxham’s Sundries in Lake City with her sister and brother in law.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading, was a huge animal lover, and enjoyed traveling to Country& Western concerts, and spending time outdoors watching wildlife. She was a loving and devout wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara J. Waxham and a step grandson, Zackery Swan.
She will be greatly missed by her family which include her husband, Larry Skowronski, whom she married December 23, 1993; a daughter, Pennee S. Lybrook (Ron) of Edinboro; a son, Donald M. Grimshaw (Rose) of Lake City; three step daughters, Michelle Buterbaugh (Eric Luke) of North East, Cheryl Phillips (Bill) of North East, Denise Swan (Francis) of Erie; a step son, Larry Skowronski (Gloria) of Franklin, VA; a sister, Geri Himes (Kirk) of Greensboro, NC; a brother, Michael Lucas (Kathy) of Lake City; her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as "Gramma Gooch", Brandi Gross (Jeremy), Dustin Taylor, Michael Taylor III (Savannah); fourteen step grandchildren, Katlin, Ben, Kelly, Blaine, Kimberly, Stephen, Brett, Angela, Rachel, Shawn, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Sarah and Larry III; a great grandchild soon to arrive; twelve step great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews and her favorite dog, Lucy.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6pm to 8pm at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Monday at 10AM.
