Kathleen R. Dahl

Kathleen R. (Akam) Dahl, 80 of Corry, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 21, 2016 at the Rouse Warren County Home.

She was born in Corry, Pa. on March 25, 1936 to the late Merle L. and Mildred E. Lindstrom Akam.

Kathleen graduated from Corry High School in 1955 and dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of her home. Kathleen provided in home day care for many children in the Corry area and later cleaned at the medical clinic and the First United Methodist Church for many years.

Kathleen was a member of Corry First United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women there and also taught Sunday School and loved singing in the church choir. She was also a member and past officer of the Corry Grange, the Corry Cut Ups and the PTA when her children were young. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing and making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael James King.

She is survived by her husband, Milton H. Dahl, whom she married on July 10, 1976 in Corry; her daughter, Karen Sue King Dyer and her husband, Leonard of Goodyear, Ariz.; sons, James LeRoy King and his wife, Laureen of Corry and Steven LeRoy King and his wife, Sherry of Lake City; her stepsons, Gerry Dahl an his wife, Kathleen of Corry and Milton D. "Dean" Dahl and his wife Vicki of Canton, Ohio; sister, Sandra Marrs and her husband, Richard of Corry; brother, James M. Akam of Spartansburg, grandchildren, Leah A. Dyer-Johnson and her husband Kristopher, Jereme L. Dyer, Tyler J. Dyer, Amanda N. King, Ashley M. King, Amy L. King, Megan Hopkins, Jack King, Andrew King (Emily) and Aleasha K. King; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Corry First United Methodist Church, 640 Worth St., Corry on Saturday August 27 at 11AM with Rev. John Rough officiating. Her family invites those to whom Kathy has made quilts for, to bring your quilt to the Memorial Service on Saturday and place over the pew where you are seated.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 Park Ave., Meadville, PA 16335
