Bryndis "Disa Kennedy" Henning, 77, formerly of Erie, passed away Tuesday August 23, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

Disa was born April 15, 1939 in Akureyi, Iceland, a daughter of the late Carl and Ellen Grant.

Following her marriage she moved to Tampa, Fl in the early 1960's. She later moved to Turkey where she raised her family, returning to the United States and moving to Kingsville, OH and later Ashtabula, OH. Disa moved to the Erie area in 1975 and had lived there until recently becoming a resident of Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She graduated from Barber School and also received her Instructor certificate in that field as well.

Disa enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing cards, fishing with her family and father.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Edna.

She is survived by her two sons, Anthony "Noel" Kennedy (Sherri Keaveny) of Ashtabula and Karl Eric Kennedy of Los Angeles CA; Brothers, Ussi Grant, Kristján Grant, Ásgeir Grant and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours observed.

Services will be held privately by the family.
