William P Watt, 83 went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at his home in Lake City, surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Meadville, PA on August 23, 1938 the son of Oliver L and Margaret L (Hughes) Watt.
Bill grew up in a loving home with his four siblings Clarence Watt (Anna), Richard Watt (Grace), Shirley Greer (Art) and Marilyn Krueger (Don).
Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, boating, stained glass work, woodworking and watching football.
Bill dearly loved his country. Following his graduation from Meadville High School in 1957, he proudly enlisted in the US Army. Returning home, he attended Edinboro State Teacher's College, graduating in 1967 to begin a life dedicated to education. Although later in his career Bill served as a Reading Specialist, a Principal, and a Federal Programs Coordinator. He was never happier than when he had his own classroom filled with eager young minds.
On August 30, 1964, he married Linda Nelson, the love of his life and partner for 57 years. Their marriage was blessed with three wonderful children, Sandy Warner (Eric), Janet Noland (Jim) and Doug Watt (Amy). Bill's loving and protective parenting extended beyond his biological children. In 1969, when Linda's parents were killed, there was no question in Bill's mind that Linda's siblings, Audrey (13), and Harry (17) would be joining their growing family. That gift of love made an incalculable positive difference in these two young lives.
At age 25, Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. That decision became the foundation for the rest of his life. Nothing was more important to Bill than protecting and leading his family to walk with the Lord. Bill was active in service to the church wherever his family lived.
Bill left an enduring legacy for his family. He dearly loved his grandchildren: Krystopher (Hillary) Warner, Nicole Warner, Sylvia Noland, Jordan Noland, Kaitlyn Watt, Ashley Watt, Caleb Watt, Brianna Watt and a great-grandson, Austin Warner.
No calling hours will be observed. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
