William Dawison Obituary

William J. Dawison, 62, of Girard passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his home.
He was born August 4, 1958 in Erie, a son of the late Francis G. and Hazel M. (Kennedy) Dawison.
Bill graduated from Northwestern High School in Albion in 1976. During high school he studied both Agriculture and Horticulture. After high school he attended Erie County Vo-Tech for Welding and was certified there in that capacity.
His employment career began working for Parker Brothers in Lake City as an Injection Molder. He later went to work for General Electric in Erie as a welder and most recently employed there as a conduit fitter inside of the cabs of locomotives, retiring from there in 2019.
Bill was a faithful man who was kind and generous. He grew up a farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and travel.  He was a master of practical jokes and loved to make people laugh with his outlandish stories. He was a proud member of the UE Local #506, United Electrical & Radio Machine Members of America; lifetime auxiliary member of both, Edinboro-McKean VFW Post #740 and Springfield VFW Post #4965. He was also a member of the Albion Moose Club and supported many other organizations, both locally and nationally.
He will be greatly missed by his family, which include two daughters, Billie Jo McCracken (Dylan) and Kelly Dawison both of Conneaut, OH; two sons, CMSGT Kenneth M. Hauck (Lovely) USAF Yokota Air Base, Japan and Daniel D. Dawison of Cranesville; two sisters, Karen Dawison of Albion and Kim Kulwik of Columbus, OH; two brothers, David Dawison of Conneaut, OH and Mark Dawison (Peggy) of Waynesboro, PA; his grandchildren, Dillon, Bella Lin, Zachary and Ian; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 27th at Edinboro-McKean VFW Post #740, 10613 PA -98, Edinboro, PA 16412 at 11 AM with Pastor George Walker officiating.
