Wendell L. Irons, 89, of Fairview, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on February 12, 1935, to the late George and Etta (Baker) Irons in Randolph Township, PA.
Wendell graduated from Randolph East Mead High School in 1952 and later enlisted in the United States Army in 1956. He served as a Military Policeman, earning a Good Conduct Medal, until he was honorably discharged in 1962. Upon his discharge, Wendell moved back to Crawford County, where he secured a job at Meadville Malleable. Later, he moved to Fairview when he got a job at General Electric (GE). He ended his career at GE, happily retiring in 1995.
Wendell was a handyman and loved working on electronics; he even built the family’s televisions at home. Wendell also loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting or golfing. Most of all, Wendell was a family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Eric Irons; sisters, Janice Hamilton and Aneita Rabbitt; and brothers, Clifford and Richard Irons.
Wendell will be deeply missed by his loved ones, including his daughters, Valinda McCoy (Michael) and Shelley Aggelakos (Michael); his son, Mark Irons (Sonya); as well as sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wendell's name may be made to the Wendell Irons Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Funeral Home.
