Victoria "Vicky" A. (Baum) Simes

Victoria “Vicky” A. Simes (Baum), 71, of Girard, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (Reeves) Baum of Jamestown, NY, born on April 12, 1954.

Vicky was known for being more than a friend - she was family. She welcomed so many people into her life with a warmth that only she could give. Vicky had a heart of gold and a giving spirit that never turned anyone away. Whether you needed a meal, a place to stay, a shoulder to cry on, or simply comfort, Vicky was always there. She spent her entire life in Erie County and met countless friends through her many jobs in the area.

In her free time, Vicky enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing and making her own clothing, spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing - but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Joseph Simes Jr., and her two brothers, Raymond Baum and Merle Baum.

Vicky leaves behind her loving family, including her daughters, Niccole L. Tanner and Heather J. Tanner (Terry Blum); her son, Joseph P. Simes III (Kathleen); her sisters, Carol Milliron and Maria Cappola (Joseph); her brothers, David Baum and Brian Baum (Carol); her grandchildren, Julia Simes, Nicholas Simes (Hunter Ann), and Jacob Simes; and her great-grandchildren, Addison Simes and Nicholas Simes Jr.

She is also lovingly remembered by Stephanie Royer, Julie Kidd (Robert), Olivia Royer, and Ivy Royer, who also called her “Mom” and “Nana”.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicky’s name may be made to the Victoria Simes Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home LLC.

Per Vicky’s wishes, services will be held privately.
