Thomas L. Wilson, 69, of Lake City died on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Manor following an illness.
He was born February 21,1953 in Erie, a son of the late Elmer E. "Red" and Mary (Eagley) Wilson of Lake City.
Tom served as a member of the Modular Selection Committee for Hospice of Erie, Inc., former Board Member of the American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, Lake City Library and Zoning Committee of Lake City. He was a former Vocal Coach as well as a Piano and Pipe Organ Teacher to the Lake City, Girard, Fairview and West County area. He established, operated the Wilson Funeral Home from 1978-1981. He also established and operated the Wilson Care Personal Care Homes in Lake City from 1981-2012. He finished his career as a school bus driver for the Girard School District in May of 2022. He was member of Grace Episcopal Church in Lake City.
He graduated from Girard High School in 1971, attended Gannon College (1971), Mercyhurst College (1972-73), graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science (1975) and attended Gannon University (1982-83).
Tom enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Tom enjoyed music, the study of religion including hosting many bible studies. He also enjoyed cooking and could often whip up a fancy meal using leftovers. He had a special place in his heart for animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog and best friend Gladys.
Tom will be greatly missed by his family which include his brother, Edward J. "Rusty" Wilson (Susan) of Girard; two sisters Judy Jones (William) of Greenville, PA and Diane McKnight of Girard; nieces, Amanda McKnight, Katie McKnight-Cook (Billy), Diane Caruso (Tony); nephews, Michael Wilson (Lorriane), Joe Wilson, Patrick McKnight (Chelsea), Rick Jones (Beth), Kevin Jones (Kevin), Tom Jones; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
