Thomas E. Turi, 78, of Erie, passed away on October 16, 2025, at Fairview Manor.
He was born on February 25, 1947, a son of the late Bernhardt and Agnes (Evanoff) Turi.
Thomas grew up in Erie and graduated from McDowell High School in 1965. Following his education, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He married the love of his life, Patricia Cantlon, in 1971, and together they built a family he cherished deeply.
Tom began his career as a plumber through the local union, where he remained a proud member for over forty years. His diligence and craftsmanship were evident in major operations throughout Pennsylvania. He retired after a long career marked by integrity and hard work.
A devoted family man, Tom cared deeply for those closest to him. Sundays were spent gathered at his mother’s home for conversations and dessert with family, an event not to be missed. He and his brothers enjoyed planning annual golf outings and hunting trips, traditions filled with camaraderie and stories that grew richer over the years. His love for the outdoors extended to fishing trips in Canada and for perch on Lake Erie. In his children’s younger years, he was an involved and supportive father, later finding great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom was a member of VFW Post #470 and the Cascade Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kim Turi.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Cantlon) Turi; daughter, Shelly Kimnach (Christopher); sons, Thomas J. Turi and Matthew Turi; brothers, Terry Turi (Dorothy), Mark Turi (Linda), and Bryon Turi (Sandy); sister-in-law, Renee Turi; and his beloved grandchildren, Frankie, Claire, and Jackson Kimnach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
