Thomas Ingro Obituary

Thomas P. Ingro, 58, of Erie, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Tom was born on March 22, 1967, to the late Thomas D. and Patricia (Cowan) Ingro. He graduated from McDowell High School in 1986 and found a stable job at Giant Eagle, where he worked as the produce manager for several years. Later, following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, Tom joined Eriez Magnetics. There, he worked for 28 years as a vibratory assembler, contributing to the company's success with his dedicated work.

Above all, Tom was a family man. He was a loving and thoughtful husband, father, and brother. In his earlier years, he enjoyed taking his family on camping trips, cherishing the moments spent away from home. Tom was also a devoted supporter of his children, attending their sporting events and cheering them on from the stands. A natural jokester, he could always bring laughter and lightness during moments of rest. Tom also held a special bond with his favorite canine buddy, Dexter.

Tom had a remarkable talent for diagnosing and fixing vehicles, often improving them with his expertise. He shared his knowledge freely, helping many people with their car troubles. A passionate reader of all genres, Tom was always eager to learn and expand his knowledge across a wide range of subjects. He was a true "jack-of-all-trades."

In the summer, Tom enjoyed spending time in his garden, cultivating both vegetables and flowers. He took great pride in harvesting his crops and often paired them with meat he had smoked for hours. A man of strong faith, Tom made prayer a daily practice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Christie Hellmann.

He will be greatly missed by his family which includes his wife, Leah (Daughenbaugh) Ingro whom he married on October 17, 1992; daughter, Katelyn Ingro; sons, Thomas Ingro and Ryan Ingro (Fiancé, Abby); sister, Amy Meola (Robert); father-in-law, Michael P. Hurta; mother-in-law, Beverly J. Hurta; sister-in-law, Kelly Gocal (Phillip); as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
