Thomas J. Kitcey

Thomas J. Kitcey, 76, of Fairview, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024.

Tom was born on October 1, 1948, in Erie to the late John and Ellen (Neilson) Kitcey.

He graduated from Fairview High School in 1966 and continued his education at Edinboro University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 1970. Tom later earned a master’s degree in business administration from Gannon University. He began his professional career at Fenestra Manufacturing in 1970, where he worked as a manager of manufacturing and engineering. He remained with Fenestra until the mid-1990s and subsequently worked at Mercyhurst University, later joining Beechwood Golf Club as a grounds manager until retiring in 2018.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or working in the garden. In his younger days, he loved to play golf and racquetball. He was also a devoted member of his faith and a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in McKean.

He leaves behind his loving family, including his son, Thomas Kitcey (Jessica); daughter, Keri Gerstenslager (Chip); former wife, Barbara Kitcey; sister, Karen Cobucci (Gene); and grandchildren, Erika, Kendra, and Austin Gerstenslager.

Friends may call on Monday, November 11, from 4 - 6 pm at Edder Funeral Home, Girard. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 8880 Main St, McKean, PA 16426, on Tuesday, November 12, at 9 am. Burial will follow the mass at Fairview Cemetery.
