Thomas P. Buie, 73 of East Springfield, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 12, 1947 in Conneaut, Ohio, a son of the late Robert B. and Evelyn L. (Dalrymple) Buie.
Tom moved with his family to Fairview when he was a boy and attended Rice Avenue Union High School. Following high school, he began his own business, Buie Excavating, which he operated throughout his life. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida for many years.
He was a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494, the Conneaut Eagles #408, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #472, Conneaut and loved riding his golf cart throughout the area, going to get ice cream.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Peterson, and a brother David Buie.
His family includes his wife, Laurie A. (Takach) Buie, whose song together was “The Greatest Love/Hate Story this town Has Ever Known”; a daughter, Sherri Buie; three sons, Stephen Buie, Michael Buie (Lara) and Jeff Buie (Lori); his grandchildren, Kayla Buie, Robbi Buie and Jamie Buie also several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or services observed.
Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery.
