Theresa M. (Krzyzanowski) Pogson

Theresa M. (Krzyzanowski) Pogson, 64, of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

She was born in Dunkirk, NY, on September 1, 1961, to Ronald and Patricia (Wincenciak) Krzyzanowski.

Theresa graduated from Technical Memorial High School in 1979 and that same year began working as a secretary for her father’s business. She was also married that year. In the years that followed, she started her own family and became a stay-at-home mother, raising her children until they were further along in their education.

In 1999, Theresa began working for Cranesville Borough as Assistant Secretary. In 2007, she became a Certified Governmental Secretary, and in 2009, she became a Notary Public. In 2010, she was promoted to Secretary and Treasurer of Cranesville Borough. She was actively involved with the Pennsylvania Association of Municipal Administrators for many years, serving on the board and holding several leadership roles, including Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President-Elect. Theresa was instrumental in the founding and operations of the West County recycling day. She also played a crucial role with the West Erie County Emergency Management Agency.

Outside of work, Theresa enjoyed spending time at home working on puzzles, playing solitaire, and reading her favorite true crime novels. She was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and proudly served as a Girl Scout leader for her daughters’ troop. Theresa especially loved shopping trips with her daughters and looked forward each year to vacationing in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Krzyzanowski.

Theresa will be deeply missed by her loving family, including her husband of 46 years, Richard Pogson; daughters, Aimee Pogson (Kevin) and Erica Daugherty (David); sisters, Elizabeth Perez (Roger), Susan Bennett, Catherine James (David), and Mary Harris; sister-in-law, Vicki Jo Pogson; and her two grandchildren, Benjamin Daugherty and Ethan Daugherty.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main Street E., Girard, PA 16417, and again on Thursday morning, January 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Will Law officiating.
