Tamera (Horn) Redfield Obituary

Tamera J. (Horn) Redfield, 63, of Girard, PA passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on April 30, 2026.
She was born on August 8, 1962 a daughter of the late Finley and Betty (Shields) Horn.
Tammy grew up surrounded by a close and loving family in Franklin Center, PA. Her childhood and school years were spent on both grandparents’ dairy farms. There she helped her grandparents, uncles, and aunts with farm chores, making maple syrup, and of course enjoying her cousins. She spent a lot of time riding her pony, Ginger, and her horse, Fire, with her best friend, Cheri (Carter) Vascovich. She also enjoyed her dogs, nature, and practicing her art as a young lady. Tammy and Cheri are best friends to this day.
She attended General McLane High School and Erie County Technical School,  graduating in 1980. She met the love of her life, Bruce Redfield, in the 11th grade at General McLane. Soon after graduation they were married and began building a life together rooted in devotion and care. Tamera dedicated many years as a stay-at-home mother, creating a warm and steady home for her family, filled with her love.
Her love for animals remained constant throughout her life. She welcomed dogs and cats into her home as true members of the family and continued her passion for horses. She often said, “dog spelled backwards is God”. After raising her two sons and husband, whom needed her stability, faith, friendship, and guidance; she turned her passion into helping others by starting her own business founding, Like Home Dog Boarding and training. She was able to do this at the home she so loved. There she cared for her customers and their dogs with the same compassion she showed her own. For more than 20 years she trained and titled German shepherds in obedience and agility, forming deep bonds with each one.
Tammy also found quiet fulfillment in her artistic pursuits, she created folk art. Carving and whittling miniature animals from wood with remarkable detail. She expressed her love for all animals with pen and ink, charcoal, and colored pencils. Works of art, bringing to life the image she carried with her in her heart and mind. All while being a wife, mother, and friend to everyone she came in contact with.
Above all Tamera’s greatest devotion was to her family. She cared deeply for her husband, children, and extended family. Always offering her love through both words and action; through thick and thin. She lived with a quiet brightness, continually tending to her home and those within it. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking; providing for the needs of others.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Bruce D. Redfield III, whom she married on August 8, 1982, at McLane Church; her sons and daughter-in-law, Jesse D. Redfield (Victoria) and Randy L. Redfield; father-in law, Scott Hines; mother-in-law, Joyce (Beading) Hines; and her brothers, Leslie F. Horn (Christine) and Robert “Bob” G. Horn (Marjorie); and all of you!
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ANNA Shelter 1555 E 10th St, Erie, PA 16511
Burial at Francis Cemetery will take place privately with her family. A celebration of life will be held this coming summer at the family home. Thank you for all your prayers, God bless you all!
