Sue (Kireta) Scalise, 77, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at UPMC Hamot. She was born August 28, 1947, a daughter to the late Vincent and Majorie (Bair) Kireta.
Sue grew up in Albion and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965. She spent her early years living in California, working as a secretary for several insurance companies. Sue and her husband enjoyed many long years in the sun. In retirement, she returned to the place she once called home.
Sue was a kind and loving woman, simple in her joys and generous in her laughter. She had a lifelong fascination with elephants and enjoyed collecting various figurines and keepsakes to display in her home. Family gatherings for holidays and special occasions brought her immense happiness, as she cherished the time spent with her loved ones.
In the summer, Sue cultivated a beautiful flower garden, inspired by the bird feeder she kept stocked to attract her favorite birds, the Orioles. She had a deep love for animals and cared for many pets throughout her life, finding joy in their companionship.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Williams.
Sue will be greatly missed by her husband, Ronald Scalise, whom she married December 23, 1967; stepdaughter, Renae Garlick (James); stepson, Roger Scalise (Sherri); sisters, Mary Ann Bradfield (Sam Palmer) and Kathy Shearer; brother, Charles Kireta; step-grandchildren, Bo Scalise, Kiri Scalise, and Zach Scalise; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are being held privately.
