Shawn Moore

Shawn Moore, 40, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. 

He was born June 18, 1984, a son to Doyle Jr. and Mary (Schatz) Moore. 

Shawn grew up constantly in motion, a result of his temperament as well as his love for speed and four-wheelers. At the young age of five, he began riding, and by age 12, he was wrenching on his own machines. Later, Shawn would borrow heavy duty equipment to make racing tracks in his backyard. His mechanical and technical ability led him to work at JB Racing, where he focused his craft at welding. Following his graduation from Northwestern High School, he attended Lincoln Electric and became a certified TIG and MIG welder. He was then employed by Eriez Magnetics for over 10 years on their welding team, all while still working with JB Racing and balancing various side projects. Most recently, he struck out on his own creations with River Creek Welding. 

Shawn was hardworking, creative, and always held a trick up his sleeve for a new design in metal art or a new hunting location. He loved deeply, cherishing those closest to his heart. His artwork was always unique and intricate. When Shawn began a project, he did not falter until it was finished. Shawn’s love for music was fierce, rooted in the raw energy of heavy metal, yet softened by the fire, surrounded by friends and the rhythm of a shared jam. He was a member of multiple bands over the years, including Crowfeather, Just Circle Yes, and Ford the River, where he played as a guitarist. Shawn's life was a testament to passion, creativity, and devotion. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who called him a friend, brother, or son.

Shawn will be greatly missed by his family which includes his wife, Kristine (Anderson) Moore; mother, Mary (Schatz) Moore; father, Doyle Moore Jr.; brother, Justin Moore (Breanna); as well as many nieces and nephews.
