Scott Recard Lewis Jr

Scott Recard Lewis Jr, 97,  went home to the Lord on Oct 22, 2025, to join the love of his life, Jane.

Scott was born in Clarion on August 15, 1928, and spent his childhood and teen years on the family farm in Pine City. He attended Pine City School and upon graduation from Shippenville High School, moved to Erie to work at General Electric. It was here their son, Robert, was born. At the time of their retirement, Scott and Jane, an inseparable pair, built a home upon their camp property, near the family homestead in Pine City and purchased a cottage in Daytona Beach, Florida for a winter retreat. They traveled extensively, while enjoying their granddaughters, April and Rachael Lewis. They continued being active in the lives of great grandchildren, Isaac and Austin Howard, and Alexandra and Kayla Osborne. Scott was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and ATV riding with the family. 

Helen Jane (Armstrong) Lewis was born October 11, 1929 in Mahoning, PA and graduated from Kittanning High School and also moved to Erie to work at General Electric, where she met Scott. She also attended Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician as well. She was an avid golfer and held a membership at High Level Golf Course. She was very considerate and involved in the lives of her family and friends. They were members of Pine City United Methodist Church. Jane passed away March 10, 2014. 

They were preceded in death by Scott’s parents Scott, Sr. and Leona (Rex) Lewis and Jane’s parents, Alvie and Margaret (Peg) Lingler Armstrong; Scott’s brothers; Otis, John and Charles (Lindy) Lewis; sisters, Mary Rex and Esther Strotman. Jane’s family, all since deceased; brothers James and John Armstrong; sister Kay (Armstrong) Cousins. 

They are survived by son, Robert Lewis (Carol), of Fairview; granddaughters, April Lewis-Gregory (Dale), Rachael Osborne (Rick); great grandchildren; Isaac Howard (Sarah Hall), Austin Howard, Alexandra Osborne and Kayla Osborne (Tiler Lewis); great great grandchildren, Jacob, Grayson and Kinsley Howard, and Johanna Osborne; special nieces and nephews, DeAnna Windh, Sheila Rex, Tom Armstrong, and Dave and Jackie Lewis. 

Scott’s interment will be next to Jane in the Venus Cemetery, with no services planned at this time.
