Sandra Rogers

Sandra (Freer) Rogers, age 74, passed away on July 9, 2025. She was born June 26, 1951, a daughter to the late Robert and Edna (Larson) Freer. 

Sandy grew up in Central, PA graduating from Smethport High School. Post-graduation, her life took a turn when she went on a blind date with a young Marine, leading to a lifelong marriage. Seeking a better life, the couple relocated a few times, Baltimore, Maryland being one of their early stops.  

The couple's journey eventually brought them to Erie, where Sandy found employment with the Millcreek School District where Sandy diligently served as a secretary. Her career in education concluded with a well-deserved retirement, allowing her to enjoy her long retirement. 

Her joyous moments were often spent on the family boat, cruising the waters of Lake Erie. Each warm and sunny day became an opportunity to journey on the waters. 

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Rogers Jr., whom she married on September 5, 1970 in Smethport, PA; as well as her brother, James Freer. 

She will be greatly missed by her family which includes her son, Michael Rogers (Andrea); grandchildren, Kylee Miller, River Rogers, and Dylan Rogers.

Services will be held privately for Sandy's family, in the care of Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC.
