Ruth L. Pertl, age 97, of Franklin Center, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by close family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Pertl; her sons, Milton F. Pertl and Roger C. Pertl; and several of her sixteen siblings.
Ruth is survived by her sisters, Grace Fletcher of Cranesville and Helen Eckels of DuBois; her brother, Gene Robison of North Carolina; her brother-in-law, Robert Davis of Edinboro; her son, Randy Pertl (Nancy) of Cranesville; her grandchildren, Dan Pertl (Sarah) of Erie, Kristen McHenry of Erie, and Heather Dawson (Brian) of Pittsburgh; several great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Teresa Huzinec of Girard.
Ruth graduated with honors from Albion High School in 1945 and was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cranesville. She worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm throughout her adult life and took great pride in her role as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
Ruth was known for her excellent cooking, her love of hosting family gatherings, and her warm sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, walking with her dog Buddy, and finding treasures while thrift shopping.
Ruth requested that her funeral services be private, but her family intends to host a celebration of life gathering in her honor in the coming weeks.
