Russell J. Black

Russell J. Black "Rusty," 54, of Albion, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Rusty was born on December 15, 1970, in Erie to Richard Black and Susan Knorr.

He attended Northwestern High School, and after that, he entered the workforce as a mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for a few years before discovering his true passion in construction work. Rusty worked for numerous companies in various areas of construction until his retirement in recent years.

In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1956 Chevy and his 2005 Corvette. He also loved remodeling and taking on projects in his own home. Rusty was passionate about the outdoors, whether it was fishing, riding side-by-sides, or going mudding with his family.

Rusty is survived by his father, Richard Black (Wanda); mother, Susan Knorr (John); sons, Jonathon Black (Jessie) and Michael Black (Brittany); sisters, Jennifer Black, Carrie Black and Missy Salisbury; brothers, Michael Black (Twila), Ricky Black (Angie), and Jeffrey Warner (Stacy); two grandchildren, Nova Black and Cooper Black as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rusty's name may be made to the "Rusty Black Memorial Fund" under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home LLC.

Per Rusty's wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
