Ronald W. Buchholz 75, of Girard passed away Friday April 22, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospial.
He was born June 29, 1946 in Natrona Heights, PA. The only surviving child of the late Arthur and Mary C. (Teyssyer) Buchholz.
He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1964. Then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served aboard a Fleet Airborne Electronics Training Unit. He was deployed overseas during the Vietnam War where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal.
Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the area. Ron received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State Behrend in 1973. He was employed by the American Sterilizer Company (AMSCO) as a Machinist and Inspector. Retiring from there in 2007.
Ron made friends wherever he went. He loved people and being surrounded by them. Ron was a family man, who thoroughly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He coached baseball and soccer for many years, always lending a helping hand. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Suburban Bowling League. Ron taught Sunday school for 11 years at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Girard. Later becoming a member of Church of the Cross, Fairview. His faith was important to him.
Along with his parents, Ron was proceeded in death by his sisters Carolyn and Linda Buchholz.
He will be deeply and forever missed by his loving family, his wife Teresa M. (Whipple) Buchholz whom he married in 1970 in Erie; a daughter Julie E. Brown (Dennis); sons James A. Buchholz Retired USAF (Gabi); Timothy E. Buchholz (Bonnie); and Paul C. Buchholz (Lissette); Grandsons Eric Buchholz, Jonathan Buchholz, Nicholas Buchholz (Denise), SPC Alex Brown US ARMY, and granddaughter Jessica Brown.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1pm to the time of the funeral service at 3pm at Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. East, Girard, PA 16417.

Burial will be in the Erie County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
