Robert "Bob" Brown Obituary

Robert Brown, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

He was born November 22, 1949 a son to the late Allison R. and Eileen (Anthony) Brown.

Bob graduated from Corry High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves. He served as a mechanic before being honorably discharged and returning home. Throughout his life, Bob worked in retail, always dedicated to meeting the needs of his customers. More than anything, Bob was a devoted family man, deeply caring for his large family and making sure each member felt his love.

As grandchildren joined the family, his playful and teasing side emerged, often accompanied by the promise of ice cream for the little ones. One of Bob’s greatest joys was driving his ice cream truck along the local route every summer for over a decade, bringing smiles to countless children.

Though quiet, Bob had a heart full of love. Independent-and some would say stubborn-he remained self-sufficient to his final days. He was not idle, willing to fix and maintain things around the house. In addition to being a hunter, he enjoyed spending time with family by his side. Some of the family’s brightest memories came from annual trips to the Outer Banks.

Bob was also a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.

He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife Judith (Ahl) Brown whom he married June 7, 1969; daughters, Jennifer Carden (Jeff), Kellie Casimiro (Steve), Amy Cambra (Mike); sons, Richard Brown (MaryEllen), Jeffery Brown, Gregory Brown; sister, Peggy Wampler; grandchildren, Jacob (deceased) Christina and Preston Brown, Patrick, Bailey, and Aiden Carden, Madelyn, Ruthann, Gabe and Max Casimiro, Kaitlyn Brown, Jared Harvey, Savannah and Tristan Brown, Aubrey, Allison and Jessica Cambra, Zander Brown and a great-grandson Emerson Vanderbilt.  Additionally, he will be missed by his in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, 1001 Main Street East; Girard; Lake Erie Community Park’s Wednesday Music in the Park, 10140 Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417, or Mead Park (Corry, PA.) at Mead Park c/o City Building 100 S.
