Robert A. Sutter

Robert A. Sutter, 89, of Girard, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital. 

Robert was born March 10th, 1936, in Punxsutawney, PA; a son of the late Robert P. and Doris (Mohney) Sutter.

Bob graduated from Girard’s Rice Avenue Union High School in 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Army Security Agency in Japan and various other duty stations. Attaining the rank of Corporal, Robert was awarded the Good Conduct Medal as well as the National Defense Service Medal, spending one year and ten months overseas. Upon his Honorable discharge from service, he returned to Girard and went to work for Parker White Metal (Now PHB Inc.) and retired in 1990 after 31 years with the company. During his retirement years, he continued to work at various places until finally fully retiring in 2002.  Bob was also a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494. 

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. (Stuck) Sutter, whom he married in December 29th, 1954; and a sister, Diane Shaffer.

Robert will be greatly missed by three daughters; Robin Listello, Brenda McGarrity (Chuck), and Jean Rambish (John); a son, Kevin Sutter; six grandchildren, Tori Listello, Marissa Listello, Dino Mastrianni, Brianna Jahna (Bo), Casey Palmer (Tiffany), and Kolton Sutter; as well as five great grandchildren, Avery and Jack Palmer, Gallagher and Garrity Jahna, and Lucas Dornbos. 

A special thank you to Robert's nurse, Kyle, for his care and compassion in these final days.
