Robert P. Lewis

Robert P. "Bob" Lewis, 74, of Fairview passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on March 15, 1950 to the late Donald G. Lewis and Rita A. (Burger) (Lewis) Seifert in Erie, PA. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1970, followed by Erie County Technical School where he began his apprenticeship to become a Journeyman sheet metal worker in 1976.  Bob implemented these skills at Erie Strayer, Van Air, and multiple manufacturing and commercial facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania.  He retired from West County Paramedics as a wheelchair transporter in 2012. 

Bob was a member of the Fairview Fire Department for 35 years, while holding positions as the President, Vice President, Fire Police Chief, and Lieutenant.  He was active in the Auxiliary, and past member of the West Ridge and West Lake Fire Departments.  He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union Local #12 as well as a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 742. Bob enjoyed many years of camping at Evergreen Campgrounds, where he loved mowing the grass.  His heart embraced joking around, animals, people, and most of all, he loved his family. 
  
Bob will be greatly missed and survived by his wife: Kathy J. (Hartline) Lewis, whom he married on April 21, 1979 in Erie, PA; two sons: James C. Lewis and Jason H. Lewis; grandchildren: Abigale Harlan, Molly Comp-Lewis, and Zofia Lewis; and nephew, Richard B. Hartline.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the AseraCare hospice team; their dear friend and cousin, Pam Maynard; and all of the neighbors and friends who offered support and help during Bob's care.

Friends may call on Friday November 22, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard. A Funeral Service will be held there the following day, Saturday at 10:00 am. Burial will take place in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
