Robert B. Brooks

Robert B. Brooks, 77, of Girard, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge.  He was born March 7, 1947, in Erie, a son of the late C. Leo and Pearl (Sawtelle) Brooks.

Bob had worked at the Erie County Home (Now pleasant Ridge Manor) as an Orderly for several years and had been Manager of the Girard Laundromat for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, working outside, rock collecting, driftwood and Erie's sunrises and sunsets.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Starlene "Star" (Bennett) Brooks, whom he married February 14, 1980, in Fairview; also a daughter, Michelle R. Brooks in infancy; a brother, William Brooks; and a brother-in-law, Gregory Bennett.

He is survived by two daughters; Angela L. Rolph (Aaron) of Millcreek, and Kayla A. Fugate (Robert) of Millcreek; his grandchildren, Allie, Carter, Hunter, Haylie, and Hannah; a sister, Jane Brooks Bennett of Fairview; a brother, Timothy Brooks (Nancy) of Erie; brother-in-law, Donn Bennett, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Robert's family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care and compassion at St. Mary's that their dad received while there.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend services there on Wednesday at 10AM.
