Richard L Theobald

Richard "Rick" L Theobald, 63, died at UPMC Hamot Hospital on Tuesday December 21, 2021. 

Rick was born November 7, 1958 and raised by the late Maurice D. and Marion P. (Backus) Theobald. 

  Rick was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta or more commonly known as “brittle bone disease”. He resisted this disease throughout his life even with having many complications. 

  He attended Girard High School. Following high school Rick moved from the Girard area to the back woods of Vermont. There he enjoyed the seclusion and peace of the woodlands. He took up the hobby of chain saw carving, creating fine sculptures to give as gifts and sell to local stores. After some years on his own he moved back home to his sister, Orma. Rick was an avid video game and horror movie enthusiast. 

  Rick was known as a prankster and was always ready with a good joke or smart remark.  Rick was happiest when fishing, building models and spending time with his great nephews.

  Rick will be greatly missed by his family which includes his sisters, Orma Wintemute and Geraldine Mcnulty her husband Jack; brother, George Theobald; niece, Christine Smith her husband Dana and their children Cameron and Carson Smith; and his step-mother, Dolores Theobald.
