Pauline L. (Bax) Young

Pauline L. (Bax) Young, 93, of Lake City died at home on Monday, December 26, 2022.

She was born on December 20, 1929, in Erie, a daughter of the late Roy W. and Henrietta Hess Bax.

She graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1948. Following high school Pauline attended Michaels Beauty Academy in Erie receiving a diploma in hairstyling.

She owned and operated Pauline's Beauty Salon in Lake City for many years. Her gift was a unique way of making each person feel better about themselves.  She was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church where she was very active. Pauline took care of the Rummage Sale every year as well as faithfully assisting in any opportunity for the prosperity of the church. Pauline volunteered at the Lake City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary volunteering as a Poll Worker. Following retirement she and her husband wintered in Punta Gorda, Florida making many friends along the way. Pauline enjoyed crafts and living life!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Darl R. Young, who she married on February 10, 1951 in West Springfield; three sisters, Lucille "Diz" Bax, Betty Dudley and Mary Sedler; two brothers, Alvin F. Bax and Paul L. Bax.

She will be greatly missed by her family which include, a daughter Michelle E. Young of Sarasota, FL and a son, Robert D. Young of Albion, one grandson, Seth P. Clark of Oviedo, FL and his mother, Lisa Clark of St. Augustine, FL.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. E. Girard from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, Friday December 30, 2022 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Girard Cemetery.
