Pauline M. (Estok) Shaffer

Pauline (Estok) Shaffer, 86, died on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home. 

  Pauline was born on March 24, 1935 in Erie, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Polk) Estok. 
  She graduated from Fairview High School in 1954. Following her graduation, she moved to Colorado Springs, CO, eventually relocating to Jamestown, NY, and then moved back to Girard where she has been a resident since. 
  Pauline was the co-owner of Northwestern Solution Service, Inc., an X-ray Service Company, which she and her husband, David, founded in 1961. The company operated on a full time basis in 1978 and remained in business until their retirement in 1993. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Girard. Pauline was a member of the Elk Valley Garden Club and was honored on two occasions for the garden of the month. She was honored by the Erie County Historical Society for her dedication and service through preservation of the formal gardens of the Battles White House.  Pauline was adopted by the "family" of Camp Fitch, attending and assisting in many of the events held there over the years. She enjoyed gardening, boating and reading. 
  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel and John Estok in infancy and by her sister, Mary Graham; two brothers, Edward Estok and Stephen Estok.
  Pauline will be deeply missed by her husband, David G. Shaffer, whom she married on February 13, 1954 in Girard; her daughter, Amy Lynn Bowen and her husband Robert "Brian" of Edinboro; her son, David W. Shaffer and his wife Janice of Erie; her sisters Esther McMillen and her husband John of Lake City and Agnes Merkle and her husband Louis of Virginia Beach, VA; her brothers Joseph Estok and his wife Shirley of Millford, PA; her grandchildren Sarena Marie Bowen, Brooklynn Faith Bowen and Philip Thomas Shaffer and many nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m to the time of service at 12:00 noon with Rev. Andrew Verner officiating. 
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Girard United Methodist Church, 48 Main St E., Girard, PA 16417.
