Paul E. Wilson Jr.

Paul E. Wilson Jr., 66, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie on June 22, 1958, the son of the late Paul and Carole (Daggett) Wilson Sr.

Paul was a 1976 graduate of Girard High School and continued his education at Edinboro University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 1983. He worked as a software developer for over forty years at Avalanche & Steel Nation Information Solutions, Inc.

A true enthusiast of ice hockey, heavy metal music, and fishing, Paul was an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Browns, Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Korn.

He is survived by his son, Nathan Sampsell; grandchildren, Isaiah Sampsell, Alexandria Seneta and Nolan Sampsell; his brother, Gary Wilson; Gary’s son, Patrick Wilson; and his sisters, Karen Platz and Beth Wilson. In his later years, as his health declined, Paul was supported with exceptional care and friendship by Keith Bille, Mike Smrekar, Tim VanTassell, Richard Starks, Duke Matlock, Mark Lautenbacher, Lauren Simon, and JoDee Robertson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
