Norman “Eric” Sherman, 67, of Albion, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
He was born January 24, 1956, son of the late James E. and Gladys E. (Jones) Sherman.
Eric grew up on the family farm on Sherman Road in Albion, learning the value of hard work from a young age. He graduated from Northwestern High School as a skilled wrestler. He maintained his local pride for Albion throughout his adult life. Following high school, he pursued further education at Williamsport Area Community College in Williamsport PA, where he wrestled, earned an Associates Degree in carpentry, and met his future wife Becky.
He co-founded Bennett-Sherman Construction, a company that focused on building in the Albion area, staying true to his roots. In fact, he built the home where his family has lived for the last twenty years. In addition to his business endeavors, Eric worked as a maintenance technician at Crawford Tech in Meadville.
He was a devoted family man, always prioritizing his loved ones. Eric possessed a quiet strength and patience. Through years of hard work, he remained dedicated to his family. He had a deep love for the outdoors and animals, particularly draft horses. The Albion Fair held a special place in his heart, where he and his family enjoyed moments together. He enjoyed both hunting and family at the Sherman's Camp Snow Shoe. Eric was a man of faith, well-read and curious. Like clockwork, he was consistently dependable and steady for all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark and Dale Sherman and a grandson, Jacob Kasper.
He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife, Becky (Connolly) Sherman whom he married on October 25, 1980; daughters, Erin Anderson (Jason) and Jennifer Kasper (Brian); brothers, Roger Sherman (Sue) and Brian Sherman (Joyce); sister-in-laws, Bev (Mark) and Joyce (Dale) Sherman; grandchildren, Adison (Skunk) Kasper, Ellis (Ellie Cat) and Henry (Hank) Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northwestern Wrestling Boosters 100 Harthan Way, Albion, PA 16401.
