Nora B. (Borland) Knorr

Nora B. (Borland) Knorr, 90, of Girard, died on Wednesday December 1, 2021, at UPMC Hamot, surrounded by her family.
  She was born June 14, 1931, a daughter to the late John L. and Leora Frances (Cross) Borland Kuhl. 
  Nora attended Rice Avenue Union High School. Following high school she worked at Marx Toy’s until the time of their closing, her time there was spent as an assembler. She then went on to work at Pleasant Ridge Manor in the kitchen. There she helped in the creation of meals for the many residents in their care. After some illness she went to making meals for employees until her retirement in 1998. 
  Nora had a love of the people that surrounded her at Pleasant Ridge. Specifically, the young people that she guided through the work life. Nora was very proud of her over 1000 hours dedicated as a volunteer to those residents of Pleasant Ridge. She often tried to spread some joy each day, giving back through conversation, trips out on the town, and games played. 
  In addition to her parents Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Knorr whom she married in 1969; son, Charles “Chuck” Faytak; a daughter in infancy, Kathy Faytak; sisters, Martha Borland, Dorothy (McFarland) Borland, Helen Borland, Ruth Geraldine Borland in infancy and Esther Nancy Borland as a child; brothers, Earl Borland, John Borland II, and Kenneth Borland. 
  She will be greatly missed by her family which include her daughter, Deborah Kephart (David); son, Edward Faytak (Shelley); daughter-in-law, Diane Miller Faytak; step-sons, Bob Knorr (Mary) and John Knorr (Tammy); sister-law, Janice Borland; grandchildren, David Kephart (Tammy), Daniel Kephart, Ryan Faytak  (Brianna), Darren Kephart (Caitlin), Matthew Faytak, Adam Faytak and Andrew Faytak; many step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Owen and Drew Faytak; as well as many nieces and nephews. 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to friends of Pleasant Ridge Manor, 8300 West Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family.
 Burial will be in the Girard cemetery.
