Nadine Chase Obituary

Nadine M. (Rossbacher) Chase died on Thursday October 27, 2022, at Manchester Commons.

She was born on June 16, 1937, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Rev. Edward P. and Elsie (Fralick) Rossbacher.

Nadine graduated from Corry High School in 1955. Following high school, she worked as a telephone operator until her marriage. Nadine then faithfully took care of her family as a homemaker. They moved often at an early age until settling in Girard in 1973. Nadine's skill with a needle and thread improved through the years. She worked in crocheting, knitting, and cross stitch as well as creating afghans. Nadine gave these creations out as gifts to friends and family. In addition to this she was also involved in ceramics, attending classes to better her expertise. She always enjoyed the quiet moments leading to a project well done.

She was a woman who loved her family. She often cared for her grandchildren, taking them to school and having many weekend retreats. Nadine enjoyed the excitement they brought to her home. She made the effort to travel for birthdays and visit to her out of town family. She also took them to events at the Erie Play House or the movies on the weekends. Nadine enjoyed spending time with close friends and family at picnics on the holidays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Chase whom she married in the August of 1957 in Corry; daughter, Stacy Chase Jacobs; and by her sisters, Dinah Rossbacher, Emma Williams.

She will be greatly missed by her family which includes her daughter, Robin Whitmeyer of Columbus, Ohio; her son, Dirk Chase of Girard; and grandchildren, Katie Bohn (Dann), Brian Jacobs, Jessica Dickens (Curtis), Tara Chase (Andrew), Zoey Whitmeyer, and Max Whitmeyer (Annalisa Taylor); and one great-grandchild, Felix Bohn.
