Michelle L. (Shelly) Roney

Michelle L. (Shelly) Roney, 49, of East Springfield, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 31, 1972, the last child born that year in Erie, a daughter of Mitchell “Mike” and Joanne (Engels) Roney of East Springfield.

“Shelly” initially received support from the Barber Center until 16 then for the last 25 years by EHCA and ECCM. Her main support caregiver was Julie Grace affectionately known by Shelly as Aunt Do’s.     

Shelly loved being with her family. As a member of the Girard Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses she also enjoyed her spiritual family as much as she could with her physical limitations. She was always good natured and deeply loved by any that knew her. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers, Michael J. Roney  of Meadville and Stephen Roney (Kelly) of Girard, also several nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service will be via Zoom on Saturday, November 5th at 2:00 pm.
