Michael J. Skapura, Jr.

Michael J. Skapura, Jr., 67, of Lake City and formerly of Girard., died Sunday, October 3, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness.

Michael was born July12, 1954 a son to the late Michael and Florence (Wasiulewski) Skapura. 
Michael graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1972. He then continued his education at the Lenoir Community College attaining an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Throughout Michaels life he worked in transportation. He saw most everything in this great country of ours, from the great lakes to the gulf coast and many things toward the western sky. 

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Skapura. 

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Sr. Elizabeth Skapura of the Trinity, OCD and his friend, Sharlene Guzzy of Lake City.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 6th from 6 to 8 pm at the Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. E., Girard, PA 16417.  A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 629 Hess Ave, Erie, on Thursday at 10:00 am with Father James Power, officiating. 

In lieu of flowers be made to the Carmelite Monastery of Jesus Mary & Joseph, 430 Monastery Road, Elysburg, PA 17824.

Burial will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, Girard, PA
