Mary K (Graham) Nicholes

 Mary K. (Graham) Nicholes, 73, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 following a short illness at UPMC Hamot.
Mary was born on April 1,1948, a daughter to the late Floyd J. and Mabel M. (McGrady) Graham. Mary graduated from Mercer Area High School in 1966. Following high school, she continued her education at Villa Maria College graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Mary worked for the Erie Catholic Diocese for over 35 years. Most of her career was at St. John the Evangelist School in Girard serving as the Librarian, 8th Grade Teacher and Principal. Mary also pioneered the computer lab at St. John’s. She then worked at Villa Elementary until her retirement.
Mary had a love of reading. She also loved the time spent with family and the many road trips and vacations with them.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William “Nick” Nicholes, a son, in infancy, Bryan Nicholes; and a brother, Ed Graham.
She will be greatly missed by her family which includes: her long time companion, John Graham, a son, Bill Nicholes (Ronda); a daughter, Jennifer Nicholes (Ray); two brothers, Joe (Viv) and Bob Graham; two grandchildren, Sierra and Lexi Nicholes; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rice Avenue Community Public Library, 705 Rice Ave., Girard, PA 16417.
A Memorial Luncheon will be held at a later date.
