Mary Hrinda Obituary

Mary Ann Hrinda, 91, of Fairview died on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born March 4, 1932, a daughter to the late John and Mary (Mangol) Komisarski.

Mary Ann attended Fairview High School, following her schooling she was married to the love of her life, Joe, and began a family. She focused solely on diligently raising her family until they were school age. Mary Ann then started her career as a Nurse’s Aide at the VA Medical Center. Her faithful service to the hospital continued as an outpatient scheduler. She welcomed and helped many veterans and got them to their appointments on time. Mary Ann retired following a job well done, providing service for thirty years.

Mary Ann made her lifelong home in the farmhouse her grandfather had purchased in 1934 when she was two years old, in Fairview. She was a family woman who cared for the traditions of those who came before her. She held her children and grandchildren close throughout her life, each enjoying her homemade dinners from family Slovakian recipes. In addition to holidays, picnics and parties were a highlight in the summer months, bringing the family together. Mary Ann took pride in her home, each spring reigniting her passion for maintaining flower beds. She enjoyed cultivating each section of the ground surrounding her home in a different style. Her love of antique furniture brought to her a hobby where she utilized her sewing skills, reupholstering and bringing new life to her pieces. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and bowling.  Her faith held strong, being an active member of Sts Cyril & Methodius Church. She assisted in the yearly fish fries and baking nut rolls, she was also a member of the Alter Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Joesph W. Hrinda, whom she married on July 2, 1949; her daughter, Janet M. Parker; and a sister, Sophie Prindle.

She will be greatly missed by her family: daughter, Karen Ann Dibble (Robert); son, Donald Hrinda (CathySue); grandchildren, Aaron J. Hrinda (Kristen), Adam G. Hrinda, Andrea Valant (Christopher), Bobbielyn Dibble-Norris (Will), Jonathan M. Dibble; great-grandchildren, Abigale, Logan, Carter, Annabella, Phillip, Gemma, Eden, and Tallia.
