Mark D. Alward

Mark D. Alward, 59, of Erie, and formerly of Girard, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born September 23, 1963, in Erie, a son of the late Theodore E. and Roena (Leehan) (Alward) Hough.
Preceded in death by, his parents, Theodore & Roena, his favorite uncle, Don Smith & his beloved dog Lola.
Mark grew up in the Girard area and graduated from Girard High School in 1981. While a student there he attended the Erie County Vo-Tech, where he learned the trade of welding. Following high school, he began his working career with Amthor Steel Company Inc. in Erie. He was employed there for ten plus years and most recently worked for PHB in Fairview.
He was an avid hunter and trapper in his younger years.  More recently, he loved vegetable gardening at his home, completing various home improvement projects & enjoyed spending his days with Lola before her passing.
He is survived by, twin daughters, Megan L. Alward (Mike Cratty), Morgan R. Alward (Andrew Rickard), a son, Jake D. Alward (Mikaela Billings), his sister, Sue A. Vanicek (Bob), brother, Theodore “Ted” Alward (Doreen), a granddaughter, Blakely M. Alward, his former wife, Judy L. Alward, aunt, Thelma Smith along with several nieces and nephews.  He will be greatly missed by all and never forgotten.   
Friends may call on Thursday, June 15th at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard from 5PM to the time of a Prayer Service at 7PM.
