Marilyn A (Weyeneth) Blystone

  Marilyn (Weyeneth) Blystone, 90, of Fairview, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. 

  She was born in Girard on April 7, 1935, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Weyeneth.

  Marilyn graduated from Girard High School (ran shuttle relay as a Jr. Olympian and was voted prom queen) and then from Hamot Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked at Hamot Hospital in Erie, St. Luke’s Hospital in Spokane, WA and Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Erie.

  She was an active member of Weis Library United Methodist Church and the Fairview Garden Club.  She was also a member of the Erie Guild of Craftsmen and the Presque Isle Artists Association.

  Her main joy in life was spending time with her sons and their families.  She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting and travel, along with watching Erie sunsets and collecting beach glass and colorful rocks.

  Her faith in God, as well as her love for family and friends, sustained Marilyn and nurtured her every day with a positive attitude, a ready smile and energy for all the things she loved to do.

  Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Glenn Blystone; her son, Barry Glenn Blystone; her parents, William and Dorothy Weyeneth; her brother, William Weyeneth and his wife Judy; her sister, Janet Northrop and her husband Kenneth; and by her brother-in-law, Richard Blystone; sister-in-law, Joyce Pettigrew.

  She is survived by her son, Timothy Kevin Blystone and his wife Patty; her daughter-in-law Kathy Blystone; and by her beloved grandchildren, William Blystone, Robert Blystone and Brittany Blystone and Michelle Holland and her husband Ethan, Kristin Blystone.

  Also surviving are two sisters, Audrey Ellis and her husband Edmund and Dorothy Hayes; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hewel and her husband Gerald; and many nieces and nephews.

  Friends and family may call on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main St. E, Girard PA 16417. A funeral service will follow the next morning, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Weis Library Cemetery.
