Margie Joan Crowell

Margie Joan (Crowe) Crowell, age 99, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born on November 20, 1926, in Union City, PA, to Louis and Florence (Wedlock) Crowe, Margie was a fearless and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who is remembered for her strength and her unending love and support of her family.

Throughout her life, Margie’s constant presence in the lives of her family and friends was a testament to how she cared for them. With friendships that spanned a lifetime, Margie could often be found at the card table playing Five Hundred for over 50 years, attending First United Methodist of Corry for over 75 years, and bowling competitively with her team for decades. 

To her family, Margie’s devotion and presence could be felt in the countless hours in gyms and on fields supporting her sons’ and grandsons’ wrestling and football careers, her faithful attendance of school plays and concerts, and her commitment to always making space around her tiny kitchen table to gather her family together.

Margie’s life was defined by her strength, resilience, dedication to her family, and her faith in Jesus Christ her Savior. Her love was evident in the steady presence with which she supported and stood beside those she cared for. That same strength, resilience, love, and faith lives on in her family, the foundation she built shaping the generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Anna Louise (Babe), Dorothy, and her daughter, Patricia.  

She is remembered by her children: Sandy Reed, Dave (Jackie) Crowell and Scott (Stephanie) Crowell; her grandchildren: Michelle (Mark) Fossum, Casey (Ryan) Smith, David Crowell, Colin Crowell, Seth (Christine) Crowell, Hannah (Daniel) Benefield, Isaac (Kymber) Crowell; and her great-grandchildren: Jude Fossum, Rhett and Ridge Smith, and Jidenna Crowell; nephew and nieces: Rex (Kristen) Rathbun, Cindy(John) Amoroso, and Janice Rathbun; and family of the heart: the Kim Forrest family.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday December 30, 2025 from 10:30 am to the time of service at 12:00 noon at the Corry First Church, 650 Worth St, Corry, PA 16407. Pastor Les Utegg Officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Margie’s memory to Corry First Church. Memorials in her name, Margie Crowell, may also to be sent to the Edder Family Funeral Home 309 Main St. E. Girard, PA. These contributions will be used to provide a gratitude meal to the compassionate caregivers at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
