Margaret "Peggy" (DeWolf) Brown

Margaret “Peggy” Brown, 83, of Girard, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born a daughter to the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Elder) DeWolf.

Peggy attended school in Girard before moving on to assist her family. She began her working career as an aide at Rondale Nursing Home, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many residents. She later accepted a position with EMSCO Group, where she remained until her retirement.

Peggy was a devoted family woman who cared deeply for those she loved. Racing was a cherished family passion, and the family often traveled together to watch her cousin compete.  Some of her favorite tracks included Eriez Speedway, Raceway 7, and Lernerville Speedway. Each year, a special trip was made to attend the Firecracker 100. Her spicy, sarcastic personality was always on full display in the stands.

Throughout her life, Peggy loved playing BINGO, going camping, and hitting the snowmobile trails. In retirement, she found joy in spending time with friends at Martin’s Landing, her pets, Jade and Spunky, and watching her favorite shows—Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Cops, and soap operas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Zimmerman, Geraldine “Gerry” Lafferty, Jackie Crosby, and Judy Albrewczynski.

She is survived by her family which include her daughter, Bess Ann Brown; sons, William “Bill” Brown Jr (Michelle), and Aaron Brown (Cindy) as well as her “bonus son” Bill Moyak; grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Elizabeth, Tyler, and Deshon; Lyric and Savannah; Jaelynn, Justin, Jazz, Kory, Josh and Cody; as well as nine great-grandchildren. Additionally, her close friends Audrey and Greg Landsfeld, Bambi, Tim, Pam, Gayle, and Linda, and many, many more, too many to list.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orphan Angels, 5439 W Lake Rd, Erie, PA 16505.

Funeral Services are being privately held by the family.
