Lois R. (Frantz) Sampsell

Lois R. (Frantz) Sampsell, 93, of Girard, went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
 She was born March 17, 1929 in Marionville PA in Forest County, a daughter of the late William M. and Ruth (Tawney) Frantz II
  Lois attended and graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 1948. After school, she married Archie F. Sampsell on July 23, 1949 in Oil City, and raised and nurtured their family of five children in Oil City and later in Girard. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crafts. She made many afghans for her family and crocheted for Project Linus for many years. She also attended the Girard United Methodist Church.
   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie F. Sampsell on Dec. 24, 2001; her sister Mrs. Ruth Phillips; and brothers Ronald Frantz and William M. Frantz III. 
   She is survived by her four daughters, Martha Pekelnicky (Carl) of East Springfield, Patricia Lavery (David), Lois Peters, all of Girard, and Cindy Redburn (Daniel) of Lake City, her son, Mark Sampsell  (Shelly) of Port St. Lucie, Fl.; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Wednesday from 3PM to the time of service at 5PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard with Pastor Ed Huntley officiating.
 Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City, PA.
