Lisa Christine Maitland

Lisa Christine Maitland passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

She was the daughter of Herbert and Claudette (Stufflebeam) Maitland Jr., born on June 14, 1989, in Erie, PA.

Lisa was a 2007 graduate of Girard High School, where she was active in competitive and varsity cheerleading. She continued her education at Penn State Behrend, attending for over a year until the birth of her baby boy and love of her life, Rylan Bamberga, on October 28, 2010. She then returned to Girard, where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Girard Pharmacy. Lisa also held positions with the Millcreek School District in administration, at Erie Federal Credit Union, starting as a bank teller and working her way up to Assistant Bank Manager and at the LECOM Institute for Behavioral Health.

Lisa was a kind, caring, and selfless person who always looked out for others, no matter the cost. There was nothing she loved more than her son and spending as much time with him as possible. She and Rylan were avid hockey fans, especially of the Los Angeles Kings. Rylan’s love for hockey meant Lisa never missed a practice or game. After long days, they enjoyed watching movies together while sharing popcorn and pickles. Lisa loved attending festivals across Erie and cherished time spent with family and friends. She was also deeply connected to her Native American heritage and belonged to the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herbert and Lola Maitland Sr., Robert Stufflebeam Sr., and Mary Thomas; her cousin, Tiffany Stufflebeam; and her uncles, Timothy Thomas and Thomas Thomas.

Lisa leaves behind her parents, whom she loved deeply, her father, Herbert Maitland Jr., who affectionately called her “Daddy’s Sweet Pea,” and her mother, Claudette Maitland; her adored son, Rylan Bamberga; her sister, Nicole Maitland; her brothers, David Maitland and Michael Maitland; aunts, Elizabeth Stufflebeam, Robin Brunson, and Joyce Maitland; as well as her uncles, Robert Stufflebeam Jr and Travis Pettis (Robert).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s name may be made to the Lisa Maitland Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home LLC, 309 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home LLC, 309 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417.
