Leonard W. Shough, 83, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
He was born in Camden, New Jersey, on September 2, 1942, to the late George and Jean (Chatten) Shough. Leonard was an avid traveler who began exploring the United States early in his life. During his travels, he eventually settled in Erie, where he started a family and worked as a professional painter for numerous companies throughout the county. In addition to his love of travel, Leonard enjoyed country music, old western movies, and had a fondness for root beer and coffee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Worden) Schneelock; his son, Kenneth Green II; his brothers, William Shough and John Shough; and his granddaughter, Nicole Goodwin.
Leonard is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Garrison (Kevin); stepdaughters, Judith Goodwin and Barbara Loll (Robert); son, Paul Shough (Michelle); stepsons, Karl Schneelock (Minh Tan Le), David Schneelock, and Richard Schneelock; sister, Janet Chatten; brothers, Henry Chatten and Edward Chatten; grandchildren, including Anthony James Green and 20 others; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Leonard’s name may be made to the Leonard Shough Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC, 309 Main St. E, Girard, PA 16417.
Per the family’s wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
