Lenerd Andrew Seelinger

Lenerd Andrew Seelinger, 89, passed away on May 3, 2023 with his family by his side.  He was born in Erie, PA on December 6, 1933, a son of the late Michael and Freeda (Lindsley) Seelinger.

He was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School where he took drafting and was a state champion wrestler. As a young man, Lenerd enjoyed riding motorcycles, being with his siblings and working on cars. He retired from his job as an Inspector with General Electric where he had many friends and was a proud member of UE Local #506. Lenerd never slowed down, even in his retirement, he was always there to help a friend or relative in need.

When he wasn’t keeping busy with his brothers, Lenerd was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He always had time for his grandchildren and was a loving “PaPa” or “Dos” to Amanda Hart, Carrie Hart, Meghan Titov, Michael Coates, Nicholas Seelinger and Arianna Kopkowski, who were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann L. (Barber) Seelinger and sons Michael, Robert and Jeffrey Seelinger; sisters, Florence Granahan, Judy Warren, Cecilia Duncan and Jean Johnston; brothers, Clarence and Charles Seelinger.

Lenerd is survived by daughters, Suanne Nesbitt (Jeffrey) and Lynette Lance (Ray); a son, Stephen Seelinger (Patty); sisters, Doris Walsh and Jane Ronzetti; brothers, Kenneth and Neal Seelinger and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Erie VNA Hospice Services of Erie County, 2253 West  Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506.

Services were held privately by the family.
