Kelly Weidler Obituary

Kelly M. (Munro) Weidler, 64 of Girard lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday February 6, 2024.

She was born May 30, 1959 a daughter to the late John “Tood” and Beverly (Hilgendorf) Munro.

Kelly, a Girard native, graduated from Girard High School in 1977. Following her schooling she worked for the Kolb Companies as the executive secretary. Kelly then began a family and stepped away from work to focus on what really mattered, her family, until her children were of school age. She then moved her skills to West County Paramedics where she was involved in billing and coding. Most recently, Erie Insurance held a position for her in billing before her retirement from a job well done.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, stepping in to reliably care for and love her grandchildren as well as a shoulder to lean on in times of need for her children. She took pride in her home and often made changes, renovating at the tip of hat to remake or install new, with the help of her husband. Kelly brought new life into worn out furniture, refurnishing the whole home. She loved the summer months, spending lots of her time enjoying the sun. The flower gardens surrounding the home were always thoughtfully cared for. The lawn was mowed joyfully as music played through headphones and her singing voice echoed over the mower. Weekend trips were made in their camper with the family in tow into the wilderness, excursions on rivers paddling a canoe often ended smiling and wet. The fall harvest was plucked and canned for the winter months. Kelly’s artistic eye decorated the house with the changing seasons outdoors. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cross-stitch; delicately creating heartfelt gifts for family and friends. Kelly was a member of the Girard School District Board of Education for 16 consecutive years, most spent as president. She was a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 Auxiliary acting as the treasurer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister,  Mary Margaret “Peggy” Zeppenfeld.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, William D. Weidler whom she married on May 21, 1988; daughters, Kylee and Lindsay Weidler; son, William J. Weidler; sister, Jane Barber; brothers, Mark Munro (Barbara) and Dave (J.D.) Munro (Kathy); grandchildren, Brayden Weidler, Brantley Weidler, and A.J. Senyo, several nieces, and nephews, as well as her extended American Legion Family.
