Kathleen E. Simes

Kathleen E. (Dymski) Simes, 53, of Warren, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Kathy was born in Erie on October 19, 1972, the daughter of the late David Dymski and the surviving Elizabeth (Delany) Dymski.

She graduated from Girard High School in 1991. During her time in high school, she was a two-sport athlete who played soccer and basketball. Following high school, she spent a brief period attending Edinboro University. She would later meet the love of her life, begin a family, and was a homemaker for most of her life. Once the children were older, Kathy returned to work and finished her career as a painter alongside her husband.

Kathy had many hobbies and loved sports. She adored Cleveland sports, with the Browns being her favorite. She enjoyed playing bingo and often traveled to wherever games were being held. She also loved fishing and traveling, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mimi.”

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Joseph Simes Jr. and Victoria Simes.

She is survived by her family, including the love of her life, Joseph Simes III; sons, Nicholas Simes Sr. (HunterAnn) and Jacob Simes; daughters, Karley Dymski and Julia Simes; sister, Jennifer Fails (Bill); brother, James Dymski (Lisa); grandchildren, Addison Simes and Nicholas Simes Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s name may be made to the Kathleen Simes Memorial Fund, under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417. A service will be held at 6:00 p.m. by Pastor Don Adams. Per the family’s wishes, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports memorabilia in honor of Kathleen.
