Karen (Becker) Wildermuth, 80, of Fairview died on Friday October 25, 2024, after several hospitalizations.
She was born in Erie, March 24, 1944, a daughter to the late James Sr. and Barbara (Condon) Becker.
Karen grew up in the Erie area and graduated from St. Benedict Academy. After high school, she was employed as a machine operator at Quinn Berry Corporation, where she worked until her retirement.
Being a very private person, Karen’s home was her sanctuary; taking care of the lawn work as well as that of her mother and a friend’s from work. She progressed from tending several rose bushes, having Maine Coon and domestic cats, to a vivacious consumption of mystery novels and religious writings. All while attending to the everyday chores of life.
She maintained the home environment while her husband, Bob, was away, having to travel for his work. For a time, Karen and Bob enjoyed attending Pedigree Cat Shows together. They also enjoyed the world series and Sunday football games. She attended to the needs of her sister, Barbra, as she progressed through various care homes, commutating with her residing at Pleasant Ridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Becker and brother, James Becker and dear friends Dorothy and John King.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her husband, Robert, whom she married on July 3, 1983, they have been together for over fifty years; a brother, David Becker; sisters-in-law, Ann Miller and Joyce Becker; Aunt Jackie (Ty) Sornberger; and nieces and nephews .
Friends and family may attend a graveside service on Monday October 28, 2024, at 2:00 pm at St. John’s Cemetery, Girard.
