Karen Sydow, 86, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Karen was born in Geneva, New York on March 13,1939, to the late Loren J. and Pauline (White) Dates.
She graduated from Albion High School and on December 20, 1957 she married Wilbur P. Sydow.
Karen worked at Alpine Nursing Home in Fairview and later, in 1977, worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor as a nurse's aide, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Erie Seventh Day Adventist church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, counted cross-stitch, time in nature, and Carma, her beloved Chihuahua.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur; by her brother Orville Dates; brothers-in law, James Brainard and George Sydow; and sister-in-law, Virginia Sydow Brainard; nephew, Darrin Sydow.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. Radcliffe and her husband, Robert, of Papillion, Nebraska and Tina L. Borland and her husband, Earl, of Platea; and son, David P. Sydow of Erie; grandchildren, John, Sarah, Kendra, Kellie, Kiera; three great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Gelsa Sydow, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Erie Seventh Day Adventist Church, 190 Hunter Willis Rd, Erie, PA 16509 or to the Anna Shelter, 1555 E 10th St, Erie, PA 16511.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Edder Family Funeral Home 309 Main St. E. Girard. A Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday at 10:00 am, burial to follow at Platea Cemetery.
