Judy Weyeneth Obituary

Judy Ann (Morisak) Weyeneth, 74, of East Springfield, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, following complications associated with a long battle with dementia.

She was born June 8, 1949, to the late Charles and Lucille (Salhoff) Morisak, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Her youth was spent on her grandparent’s, Harry and Mabel (Eddy) Salhoff, farm. After meeting at a street dance & dating, Judy married William G. Weyeneth on April 1, 1967. Shortly thereafter, she graduated from Northwestern High School in June 1967. For a time, she worked at the Albion Pharmacy and Buyer’s Fair, in Girard.

Judy and Bill moved to East Springfield, upon her husband's return from the Vietnam War. They had two children, Bill and Lori. Judy served as a homeroom mother at her children’s elementary school, as well as a Cub Scouts Den Mother. In the summer, she volunteered at the East Springfield Fireman's annual picnic, while also hosting family and friends making the pilgrimage to the carnival. As Judy loved children, she enjoyed babysitting the children of family, friends and neighbors.

Judy enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and playing cards, such as Pinochle, with friends and family. She and her husband were fortunate enough to be side by side most of their lives. They shared adventures . . . a honeymoon in Niagara Falls, a war time rendezvous in Hawaii, being present for the births of her grandchildren (in Canada, Florida, Australia and Maryland), plus countless trips across the United States visiting loved ones and spending quality family time with her kids and grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, William G. Weyeneth, brother Thomas Morisak, half-sister Jo Anne (Aldrich) Long, and step-father Howard Aldrich, as well as her mother's siblings: Irene Kahler, Alice Quigley, George Salhoff, Doris Farnham, Gerald Salhoff, Mabel "Grace" Duda and Ronald Salhoff.

She is survived by her two children, William C. Weyeneth and Lori (Weyeneth) Williams; son-in-law Dale Williams; grandchildren Dylan, Skyler, Logan and Lucas; half-sister Patricia (Aldrich) Harrison; two remaining aunts and an uncle on her mother's side - Hazel Peterson, Lois (Mansfield) Petri and Steve Duda, as well as many relatives on both sides and very close friends Mary & John Bowers. She will be greatly missed.

No calling hours or services will be observed. The family may hold a private ceremony at the East Springfield Cemetery this summer for both Judy & Bill, since they chose to share an urn together in death, as they lived together in life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springfield Volunteer Fire Dept, 11959 Main St., East Springfield, PA 16411.
